How to use

  1. Enter the bill amount and the number of people sharing it — results update live as you type.
  2. Drag the "Tip percentage" slider (5%–30%) or click a common preset such as 10%, 15%, 18%, 20% or 25%.
  3. The results show the tip, the total including tip, the tip per person and the total per person, so splitting is easy.
  4. A bill of 0 gives 0 everywhere; an invalid number of people (less than 1) shows an error message.
  5. No currency symbol is attached — results use the same unit as your bill. Click "Copy result" to copy every figure at once.

FAQ

What tip percentage should I use?
It varies widely by country and occasion: 15%–20% is customary in many US restaurants, and upscale places may suggest 20% or more, while in some countries service is already included and tipping is not expected. Follow local habits — or simply use the tool to add any service fee or markup you want to split.
Why are amounts rounded to two decimals?
Money is usually counted to the smallest currency unit (cents). This tool rounds to two decimals for display; if you need different precision, check the whole-number portion yourself.
What if people did not eat the same amount?
This tool splits the bill evenly. If your friends ordered very different amounts, settle each personal portion separately first, then use the tool only for the shared items that should be divided equally.
Are my numbers sent to a server?
No. Everything is calculated locally in your browser — the page never collects or uploads your input, so it is safe to enter your real bill amount.
