FAQ
How is the word count calculated?
Each contiguous run of Chinese characters is counted as one word (e.g. "你好世界" = 1 word), while English and numbers are counted by whitespace-separated tokens. Punctuation is excluded from the word count but included in the character count.
Is the result accurate?
Yes — counting happens entirely in your browser with no server involved, so results are real-time and exact. When comparing with software such as Microsoft Word, use "Characters (no spaces)" as the closest reference.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The counter is powered by local browser scripts, so your text never leaves your device.
